Webinar - The future of interim leadership when experience meets AI and data

On 2 July 2026, 12:00–13:00, you are invited to a digital panel discussion via Teams on the future of interim leadership.

Please note: The webinar will be held in Swedish.

The discussion will focus on how experience, judgement, AI and data-driven analysis can be combined in practice. You will hear concrete examples of how AI is being used in organisations today, which skills clients are beginning to ask for and how the role of the interim manager is evolving as new technology becomes a natural part of leadership.

A discussion about leadership in transition

For interim managers, the ability to quickly understand a business, create direction and make well-founded decisions is often critical. Assignments often take place in situations where many things are already in motion: new requirements, tight timelines, unclear processes or a need for better control.

As AI and data-driven analysis become more accessible, expectations are also changing around how leaders work with information. Experience from similar situations is not always enough. Leaders also need to interpret data, understand risks in decision-making material and see how new technology can be used in a responsible and practical way.

This does not mean that AI replaces experience or human judgement. Rather, it is about creating better conditions for decision-making, especially in complex environments where time, quality and clarity matter.

What you will take away

During the discussion, the panel will explore how AI is being used in practice, not just as an idea or future trend. The panel will also discuss which skills clients are beginning to request from interim leaders and how technology is affecting the role in everyday work.

For finance, operations and management teams, this topic is especially relevant. Many important decisions are still based on analyses, forecasts and models in Excel. That makes the combination of experience, structure and reliable decision-making material central, even as new AI tools become a larger part of the work.

The panel

The panel features Victor Applegren, AI researcher at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, Nils Odén Rapport from Calkin and Agnetha Dahlström, Director and recruitment consultant at Interim Search, with extensive experience from senior CFO roles.

The discussion will be moderated by Joakim Hökegård, Academic Programme Director for the Interim Management Professional Programme at GU Executive Education, part of the University of Gothenburg.

Practical information

You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions directly to the panel via the chat during the session.

Welcome to a timely discussion about the future of interim leadership, where experience, judgement, AI and data meet.
